by GUILLAUME BOKIAU and FLINT-FUYT for Hunting and Collecting.
The Hunting and Collecting SS14 selections are showcased in a short movie that art director Guillaume Bokiau and directors Flint-Fuyt present as their homage to the decades-old fascination around space missions, a subject that not only inspired the most flamboyant cinematographic creations but also gave birth to more personal interpretations, such as Piotr Kamler's 1993 "Une mission éphémère", to which their movie's title pays tribute.

LAST DAYS OF, the anniversary edition • Brussels

La Garçonnière Prod presents

Jump down on the ring and celebrate with us

One year it was and, oh boy, what a year!
Let's battle, for fun, love and dance,

It's London vs Berlin,

It's Brussels' challenging and enjoying,
So come and choose your champion

It's LAST DAYS OF, the anniversary edition

// CATHAL // Dish, Clam Jam, SPC // London

From Dalston Superstore to Vogue Fabrics, his multiple talents are well known throughout London, notably East, and we are thrilled to have him back in Brussels, still remembering his tunes & presence as our very first guest.

The man behind CATHAL (artist + DJ) aka Cocoa PartyBoy, aka PACKIN'C and one half of the London P.S party collective, loves sleazy bassline, vocal high points and smart hooks. His favoured genres go from Chicago to New York House, deep & sleazy, street & dub, pop & italo and everything that constitutes the GOOD 90's in order to create that sleazy London vibe.

His tag line "COME FOR FUN" speaks volume about his party intentions... Welcome back, boy!

// DEEPNEUE // Schwuz, R19 // Berlin

We are very excited to welcome DJ-producer-performer DEEPNEUE for the first time in Brussels and have him join the gang of LAST DAYS OF!

Multitalented portuguese artist Braulio Bandeira has been working in theater, performance and dance for various notable directors in Europe and with his own company, Brauliobox. After creating together with "Plus Belle La Nuit" the crazy-queer party Bunny Slut Club in Lyon, France, Braulio moves to Berlin where he's now working under his producer-DJ name, DEEPNEUE. He is a regular DJ at Berlin's parties such as BEITOLA, mixing tech-house-electro tunes and got his own productions of more experimental techno with a deep ambient twist.

Diesel • A-Z of Dance

Shot on the streets and rooftops of sunny LA, our A-Z of Dance shows you how to set hearts alight and clubs on fire. Float like an Arabesque, spin like a B-Boy, wobble like a Chicken Noodle Soup... it's time to step up! In a very special project for i-D and Diesel, director Jacob Sutton has captured the world's hottest dancers walking in the air in their Jogg Jeans and cut-offs. Lil Buck shows us the way of Memphis Jookin, super-thighs Nicole the Pole - star of Rihanna's "Pour It Up" video - takes us to a whole other level and, fresh from the Rick Owens catwalk, the Soul Step team show us how to dance to Le1f. Combining denim, jersey and 360° stretch, Diesel's Jogg Jeans allow successful krumping for all. Enjoy!

FROM 23 APRIL – 7 JUNE 2014

Rodrigo Bueno, Paul Casaer, clairenadiasimon, Manu Engelen, Filip Gilissen, Sophie Giraux, Meggy Rustamova and Alfred d’Ursel.

Curated by Stijn Maes/Participating collectors:
Hubert Bonnet, Michel Delfosse, Mimi Dusselier & Bernard Soens, Frédéric de Goldschmidt, Sandra Hegedus Mulliez, Cédric Liénart de Jeude, Michel Moortgat and Benedikt van der Vorst.

CAB is proud to announce its new exhibition entitled ‘Out of character’, curated by Stijn Maes, which features eight new in situ creations produced by committed emerging artists, all brought together in one place by passionate collectors.

The ‘Out of Character’ group exhibition is much more than a conventional, lateral set of exhibits but nor does it seek to be a display divided up thematically. It is disjointed yet balanced.
Each artist was given the challenge of being mindful of the space provided while striving to endow their work with its own singular character. Each was offered the chance to express themselves through a work or composition which aimed to break the mould.
The original approaches included hints at journeys made afar. But also rare or precious mediums have been put to use in order to showcase artworks of exotic and odd proportions – to mention just a few practices.

This exhibition reveals the close affinity which may arise between collectors and artists. On this occasion, the link between artist and collector is brought down to a human level, with a stark distance taken from any bargaining and haggling inherent to commercial relations. The difference here is that the artwork sprouts from a full use of available resources as well as a true interaction, dialogue and exchange between collector and artist.

'Out of Character' explores the artist's patronage and the resulting relationship. As a private initiative the CAB seems to be the most appropriate environment to tackle this relevant subject. This exhibition pays attention to those collectors that try to redefine their standpoint in today's society. They outstep their conventional role, and directly intervene where necessary. The approach followed is not that of creating a personal collection, but rather to raise awareness and respect for emerging artists' work.

Early Birds campaign 2014-2015 • La Monnaie • Brussels

Discover Nick Cave, Björk and Brian Eno where you would never expect to. In the 2014-2015 season La Monnaie will be presenting three very differing projects: Shell ShockMedúlla and Creation 2015Nick Cave wrote the libretto for the opera creation Shell ShockBjörk lent us her music for Medúlla, the first intergenerational project in La Monnaie, and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is making her new dance performance Creation 2015 to music from Brian Eno. These performances unite music, performance and beauty of the highest level.
Shell Shock is a war story in which soldiers, mothers, prisoners and lost souls take the leading roles. With ‘choreographer of the year’ Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui directing, this performance is guaranteed to be a high point in the planned commemorations for the Great War. Björk's opera Medúlla goes down a completely different path and unites senior singers, children’s and youth choirs in a voyage of discovery of vocal techniques. The music of Brian Eno is what lies at the heart of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s new performance, Creation 2015, in which principles from contemporary dance are cunningly interweaved with Eno's melodies and rhythms. These performances are once again a prime example of why La Monnaie is so highly regarded for its innovative style.
Quite exceptionally, the best seats for these performances will be on sale from Saturday 12 April to Saturday 26 April before tickets officially go on sale! So, don’t delay, this special offer only lasts two weeks and seats are limited.
