Jean Paul Lespagnard • Till We Drop • Paris
Awarded designer and artist Jean-Paul Lespagnard presents his first solo exhibition in Paris, expected to be one of the city's hottest cultural events during the upcoming Fashion Week season.
Titled 'Till We Drop' (from his homonymous S/S 2014 collection), the show hosted by Galerie des Galeriestakes the visitor on a magical trip through Lespagnard's design process, showcasing spectacular visual samples of this Baroque artist's vivid imagination and inspiring personality.
Born in Liege, Belgium in 1979, Lespagnard studied Visual Arts and fashion design at Liege's IFAPME. He started his career in fashion working for two season at Anna Sui and as Annemie Verbeke's assistant in 2005. The big hit came with his participation at the 23rd edition of the Hyeres International Festival of Fashion and Photography in 2008, where he won the Public’s Choice as well as the 1.2.3 Award.
Since then his work is set among the most inspiring contemporary forms of art with multiple collaborations including Villa Noailles, French pop singer Yelle, choreographers Meg Stuart, Pierre Droulers or Gilles Jobin, as well as with magazines such as Elle and Marie-Claire. His label is currently distributed in Belgium, France, England, Ukraine, Russia, Austria, Italy, S. Korea, Japan and China.
'Till We Drop' at Galerie des Galeries will be running from January 29 - April 5, 2014

Après 20.000 représentations triomphales : Londres, Paris, New York… Boeing Boeing atterrit à nouveau au TTO. Les avantages de la polygamie sans ses inconvénients. Les maîtresses-futures épouses de Bernard sont trois hôtesses de l'air, de trois pays et de trois compagnies différentes. Le tout est d'harmoniser les horaires. Comme le dit aimablement Le Soir : « C’est à un spectacle de première classe que nous convie le TTO ». Attention, Boeing Boeing se posera aussi dans les Business Lounge du Centre Culturel d’Uccle. Promis, même si la pièce a été été sold out l’année dernière, nous ne ferons pas d’overbooking.
