Discover Nick Cave, Björk and Brian Eno where you would never expect to. In the 2014-2015 season La Monnaie will be presenting three very differing projects: Shell Shock, Medúlla and Creation 2015. Nick Cave wrote the libretto for the opera creation Shell Shock, Björk lent us her music for Medúlla, the first intergenerational project in La Monnaie, and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is making her new dance performance Creation 2015 to music from Brian Eno. These performances unite music, performance and beauty of the highest level.
Shell Shock is a war story in which soldiers, mothers, prisoners and lost souls take the leading roles. With ‘choreographer of the year’ Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui directing, this performance is guaranteed to be a high point in the planned commemorations for the Great War. Björk's opera Medúlla goes down a completely different path and unites senior singers, children’s and youth choirs in a voyage of discovery of vocal techniques. The music of Brian Eno is what lies at the heart of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s new performance, Creation 2015, in which principles from contemporary dance are cunningly interweaved with Eno's melodies and rhythms. These performances are once again a prime example of why La Monnaie is so highly regarded for its innovative style.
Quite exceptionally, the best seats for these performances will be on sale from Saturday 12 April to Saturday 26 April before tickets officially go on sale! So, don’t delay, this special offer only lasts two weeks and seats are limited.
